My own tree..

If you want a place in the sun, you must leave the shade of the family tree.
-- Native American Proverb

Found this in a Chicken Soup for the Soul Daily Subscription..
This explains why I am living in a boarding house when my family just lives in QC
Although I think being under the shade of my family will spoil me and impede my growth, I know that I still belong there (though I really need my own copy of the house keys...)

. . . .
I want to be my own person..Well have my own room at the least..sharing with 3 other girls (my sisters) really feels cramped and (pardon the comparison) but our family is semi-conservative that I think I am even more at ease and closer to my boardmate now (who will leave me soon..huhuhu ) than any of my sisters ...it's probably because we live such busy lives, that we don't have time for some hugging ... do we take each other for granted? how come I can be outright with other people more easily that with my own kin? it's like i am so different from my sisters that i know they won't understand me..well probably because ever since i can remember i have wanted to live outside the house and i have succeeded..during my thesis days, i stayed in school, when i had my first job, i opted to work away and live in a dorm.. i even got a chance to stay abroad for 7 months... i feel that although i have the family's core values, i have modified and added to it because of my own experiences and for that i feel estranged to them. . . .

And Then There's...

If you want a place in the sun, you've got to put up with a few blisters.
-- Abigail Van Buren

Being under the sun too long will dry you up, okay so this is too literal..
Well, I do miss my family and want to see them and know how they are doing.. and when you strive to achieve your dreams, you have to sacrifice some things..and after some time you feel the lack of purpose...

...solution: after some time, i plan to plant my own tree.. anyone want to assist me? ;)
