Leaving
I have talked to quite a number of people (including myself =D) to know that saying goodbye properly is important. For bf-gf relationships, this is important in the closure of the old relationship and in the graceful transition to the coming one. In our lives, we say goodbye for a number of reasons. Death, migration, change of jobs are some of the reasons aside from breakup. In all of these, the both parties (the ones left behind and the ones leaving) need to move on and to be able to do so, a level of closure must be achieved.
My friend who is leaving for another job (in another region of the country) is saying how she should have just went away without telling anyone. She said this because people have started (initially) to go sentimental on her and then when they can't persuade her to stay, go bitchy on her. =D All in good humor, of course, but it still is torture. I myself have done it to her.
I went from "Mamimiss kita..." to silence to "Langya ka! kapag d mo ko tinext, aawayin kita!" and then to the denial stage (saying that she really didn't figure in my life that much..because I needed to get used to the fact that she can no longer be there for me as much as I wanted her to...)...
I didn't persuade her to stay though, because personally, I understand the concept of leaving...
"Is it always necessary to leave?"
"It's always necessary to know when a stage of one's life has ended. If you stubbornly cling to it after the need has passed, you lose the joy and meaning of the rest. And you risk being shaken to your senses by God."
["The Lord is stern."
"Only with those He has chosen."]
