my pink sister

come to think of it, my parents did try to have a pattern for their children's names. when asked about it (as homework in highschool), my mom said that they named us after colors (peachy and pinky) and gems (pearly and pierre - which means 'rock')..so what happened with our youngest (pritzel)?? hehe they probably couldn't think of anymore names starting with P...

anyway, i want to write today about my pink sister.:) a year and 7 months older than me, she was born pink, literally pink. she was crying her heart out when she came into this world in a taxi cab. hence the name.. that color started her off in the passionate world of art.

as my father wished to bring out the artistic in us, we were all sent off to summer art classes during our teens. i've always believed that each of us siblings had the artistic skill inherited from our father, though in different levels and form. although all of us could draw, having had our training from fernando b. sena... i knew our eldest had the nicest handwriting (and has a loyalty medalist in being the class secretary because of that). my brother was very skilled in graphical arts, his closet in his teens was painted with superheroes in full color but took it for granted ('magaling na ako e, d ko na kelangan pag-aralan un'). our youngest studied industrial arts. i on the other hand took to the crafty side of art. but only she pursued the fine arts course in college and even graduated cum laude.

(my interest in crafts is but a hobby and limited to flowers. oftentimes i would create a flower origami and left it at that (just the flower, no stem, leaves or pot). she was the one who packaged and made them complete. for one christmas, she gave origami pots of flowers to friends as gifts - one of my dream-gifts hehehe. )

ate pink worked as a graphical artists for illustrazio, characters, etc. working on sesame street, barbie, teletubbies designs on bags, shoes, baby items. (but is still available for freelance graphical arts work.) she is now at a time in her life trying out a different career but still the most artistic (most passionate about the arts) of us still continues to use her creativity...click here to see her current racket ;)
